A 58-year-old falls asleep while his kitchen catches fire. During the operation, the police found 13 rifles, pistols, revolvers and knives – and took the man to the police station.
During an operation in an apartment in Taufkirchen near Munich, the fire brigade found a whole illegal arsenal of sharp weapons. The police seized a total of 13 weapons in the apartment and basement, including five rifles, pistols, revolvers, a large amount of different ammunition and several knives.
The police and fire brigade were alerted on Saturday at around 5:45 p.m. because of smoke in the apartment building. The emergency services met the 58-year-old homeowner asleep. The food in the kitchen was probably burned to him while he fell asleep due to his heavy alcohol consumption – the police speak of a value between two and three per mille. The 58-year-old, who could not produce a permit to own the weapons, behaved uncooperatively and was taken to the police station. He now has to answer for violations of the Weapons and Explosives Act.
