Taufkirchen: Atmospheric lantern festival – district of Munich

It is probably one of the most atmospheric festivals in summer: the lantern festival at the Wolfschneiderhof in Taufkirchen, which has been a popular summer meeting place for many residents of the community for many years. Once a year, the friends of the local history museum invite you to the Johannidult on the extensive grounds on Münchener Straße. Actually. Because after the Corona interruptions of previous years, the Siegertsbrunn village musicians asked for a dance with real Bavarian brass music for the first time in three years. Taufkirchen’s mayor Ullrich Sander and his wife Ruth (both in the picture) didn’t have to be asked for long and dared to dance. Meanwhile, the club’s hard-working helpers served hearty snacks, smoked trout and, of course, cool refreshments to quench thirst. Lots of colorful lanterns illuminated the atmospheric ambience of the old farmhouse. The weather held up for a long time: later in the evening, a thunderstorm drove the revelers into the courtyard.
