Taufkirchen: 20 years of Ikea in Brunnthal with a ball pit for adults – Munich

For the 20th anniversary of the Ikea furniture store in the south of Munich, the Swedish company has come up with unusual promotions. Adults are allowed into the children’s paradise and breakfast is served in the model beds.

One hour before the store closes, Iris B.’s childhood dream comes true. She dives into the ball pit at Ikea in Brunnthal. “Finally again,” says the 55-year-old. She lives in Taufkirchen, wears a colorful striped sweater and jeans, and her gray hair sticks out in all directions because it is statically charged by the plastic balls. Only her head is visible right now. “Be careful not to jump on someone,” warns Jojo Sander. The 24-year-old is an intern in the marketing department and now supervises ten adults who, exceptionally, are allowed to play in the ball pit in the children’s department on Friday evenings.
