After just five missions it’s over: Heike Makatsch says goodbye to the “Tatort” series with a moving case about a stubborn stalker.

What’s the matter?

A woman falls from the balcony of her apartment. Police officer Thomas Engels (Andreas Döhler) is convinced that she was driven to her death by a stalker. Ellen Berlinger (Heike Makatsch) investigates murder – and comes across old cases in the past. Your suspicion that it could be a serial perpetrator is confirmed when Julia Ritter (Susanne Wuest), who is under acute threat, comes forward. Berlinger does everything in his power to find the anonymous perpetrator and prevent Ritter from also falling victim to him.

Why is “Crime Scene: Out of the Dark” worth it?

When most people think of violence, they think of physical abuse. This touching episode (book: Jürgen Werner) reminds us that psychological violence can be extremely brutal and, in the worst case, even fatal. The film shows the psychological traces left behind when stalkers invade other people’s lives, spy on them and threaten them.

What bothers?

In this case, there are several stalking stories, some of which are in the past. It is not always immediately clear who it is about. A little more clarity would have been nice here.

Her partner Martin Rascher (Sebastian Blomberg) already had his last mission in the previous episode, and Ellen Berlinger has to make it to her finale alone. She receives support from her colleague Lukas Wagner (Ludwig Trepte) and the police officer Thomas Engels (Andreas Döhler).

Turn on or off?

The Makatsch era was rather mixed at “Tatort”. At the end, the investigator is once again in top form and delivers her best performance. Tune in!
