Perhaps this interpretation is based on the fact that the journalist is still just behind the television commissioner and even behind him in terms of public image crime scene-Screenwriter is located. The BR episode “Almighty” is also about a sleazy journalist with the remarkably silly name Albert A. Anast. The cliché picture is painted with the strongest colors, the figure is overdrawn.
Anast – an anagram of Satan – makes films that are sent on the Internet, reality TV in its most violent form. Anast destroys existences. He visits a young man who is suspected of being a neo-Nazi at home and talks to him the whole time in a leader’s voice. He jumps at a pastor from the side and asks: “How can I address you? Lord God? My God? Dear God? Oh God? God oh God?”
Finally there is Frau Kohlbeck, who is slowly perishing in her own filth. Without much resistance, she lets Anast (Alexander Schubert) into her trashed apartment and gives him the opportunity to look into the shaky camera with mock horror. And that is then very far from everything that is real.
“Just go in and film”
Three authors – Harald Göckeritz, Gerlinde Wolf, Edward Berger – and the renowned director Jochen Alexander Freydank tell the story of a diabolical reporter whose credo is: “Just get in and film”. And the people let it happen: Nobody who would think of reporting him for character assassination or trespassing.
The reporter’s unscrupulousness is as fake as the helplessness of his victims, the criticism of the brutalization of morals in the commercial media and cheap TV is as expectable as it is clumsy.
