The new “crime scene” season starts with the Stuttgart team, which has to solve the murder at a Christmas party. Is it worth staying awake?
The new year starts with a “crime scene” double pack: On New Year’s Eve, the Stuttgart team sends the first at 8:15 p.m. to catch offenders, one day later, on January 2nd at 8:15 p.m., the Dortmund investigators are in “greed” and fear “unleashed on the thriller fans. But first back to the Swabian metropolis: For the 28th time, Lannert and Bootz are on the hunt for criminals. Is it worth switching on and staying awake after New Year’s Eve?
This is what the “crime scene: video evidence” is about
Christmas party in an insurance company, karaoke, alcohol, relaxed mood. The next morning, an employee lies dead in the foyer, apparently fallen over a balustrade. Thorsten Lannert (Richy Müller, 66) and Sebastian Bootz (Felix Klare, 43) try to reconstruct the evening. One thing is clear: Department head Oliver Jansen (Oliver Wnuk, 45) and his colleague Kim Tramell (Ursina Lardi, 51), the dead man’s competitor, were the last to leave the house. Neither of them claims to have noticed anything. But under pressure, Tramell testifies that Jansen raped her.
He in turn speaks of seduction and consensual sex. Which of the two exposed themselves to blackmail and then got a witness out of the way? The commissioners find a video that the killed Idris Demir (Ulas Kilic, 46) recorded on his last evening. The image material of the intimate scene in the office should clarify the situation objectively. But the apparently conclusive video turns out to be ambiguous and interpretable. The impressively self-confident employee and the reckless boss – for which of the two was Demir a danger?
Is it worth switching on?
A classic TV thriller through and through with modern references and a strong team of investigators. Actually, one doesn’t have to say more about the “crime scene: video evidence”. Just take a look. The makers trust their experienced inspectors Bootz and Lannert and once again put both at the center of the action.
The well-rehearsed duo meets an exciting plot in which the two possible suspects are quickly identified. The rest is well written, well played and well staged. The film was garnished with the daily dilemma of the investigative authorities that many an allegedly filmed incident does not necessarily reflect reality …
