After a long break, Heike Makatsch can be seen in “Tatort: Blind Date” as Commissioner Ellen Berlinger. But what about her next?

Fans of the Mainz “Tatort” had to wait a long time for the new case with Heike Makatsch (50). Now, with “Blind Date” (October 24th, the first), the third case with Commissioner Ellen Berlinger is finally on the screens. Together with Sebastian Blomberg (49) alias Martin Rascher, she has to solve a murder of a gas station attendant. But what happens after that? Do the viewers have to wait several years again until Makatsch slips into the role of the policewoman again?

New case planned for next year

No, you don’t have to. The shooting for the next case with Heike Makatsch and Sebastian Blomberg was recently finished. That gave SWR in a release at the end of September known. Tim Trageser (51) acts as director in “Tatort: Angeklagt”, Thomas Kirchner (born 1961) wrote the script. The thriller is expected to be shown in the coming year. An exact broadcast date has not yet been set.

This is what the “crime scene: accused” is all about

In the new case, Ellen Berlinger and Martin Rascher have to solve the death of a rich widow. Bibiana Dubinski dies of insulin shock. The cause of death is not clear; external influences could also have played a role. When the commissioners cannot prove anything, the public prosecutor’s office closes the investigation. It should have been an accident.

Ellen Beringer does not let go of the case. She suspects the deceased’s young lover and arrests him. Now she and Rascher have little time to comb through the entire case again. Because the suspect has to be released from custody soon if no new evidence emerges.

Another case with Heike Makatsch is planned

In addition to “Tatort: Accused”, another crime thriller is being planned with the Mainz team. According to a press spokeswoman for the SWR, the development of a film has just started. “At the moment, no one can say when we will start shooting,” she said when asked by the news agency spot on news.
