Unfortunately, it often happens that you make a mistake when buying tangerines.
This is how you recognize fresh tangerines.
1. If the tangerine feels suspiciously light, this is a sign that the fruit is a little older.
2. Fresh tangerines should be nice and plump and not give in even when lightly pressed. If you feel like there is a bit of air between the peel and the fruit, the tangerine could no longer be completely fresh.
3. The stem of the fruit should be light and green.
4. Ideally there are still green leaves on the tangerine.
5. Tangerines with brown or mushy spots should not be bought again.
If stored incorrectly, citrus fruits can quickly become moldy.
If a tangerine starts to mold, it is always advisable to throw away the whole fruit.
