After 19 years, Judith Rakers is quitting as “Tagesschau” spokeswoman. Finally, she has an important message for her audience.
From the perspective of the “Tagesschau” spokeswoman, anyone who wants to help shape democracy can do so Judith Rakers should not be completely isolated even in the face of a lot of terrible news. “Yes, sometimes it’s too much for me too. You have the feeling that one catastrophe follows the next,” said Rakers, who can be seen on the “Tagesschau” for the last time on January 31st, to the “Augsburger Allgemeine”.
She is meeting more and more people who no longer want to listen to the bad news and who are withdrawing and wanting a break. “But this break shouldn’t be too long, because through our voting behavior and our commitment we help shape society, and that’s why information is important. That’s why you shouldn’t retreat into your own little place where you don’t care about anything else.” , emphasized the 48-year-old.
“You can gain peace and distance from time to time, but you should stay well informed so that you can help shape democracy.” Rakers would like to concentrate more on her entrepreneurial activities in the future.
