“I have to collect myself for a moment”: Israel correspondent has a blackout in the “Tagesschau”

An unusual moment occurred in the “Tagesschau”. A correspondent forgot what she wanted to say in the middle of the live broadcast. However, the internet responds empathetically.
The article in the “Tagesschau” only lasted a minute, but there is currently a lot of discussion about it on the Internet. The reporter became a reporter in the 8 p.m. edition Hanna Resch Live from Tel Aviv on January 1st. But during the switch she stumbled.
As she over the Supreme Court’s ruling on judicial reform in According to Israel, she first faltered, asked for a break, and then looked down to where she probably had her notes. “I need to compose myself for a moment,” she said. But the second attempt wasn’t successful either, she kept trying again and even described Israel’s government as “right-wing radical”.
Jens Riewa, who was the moderator in the studio, then charmingly moderated his colleague with the words: “Thank you, Hanna Resch. Everything has arrived, we understand everything.”

However, the blackout could only be seen live on television. The “Tagesschau” version, which is currently available in the media library, has been shortened. There is neither Resch’s mistake nor Jens Riewa’s reaction to it, but a hard cut to the next topic.
But on Platform X, formerly Twitter, there is now a lot of discussion about the live broadcast and the reporter. “I understand that this journalist has just described the Israeli government as right-wing radicals. That makes me a bit stunned… What does the director actually say about this?”
Others asked the question whether they “will have another chance after this performance.” Meanwhile, there was a lot of criticism for her statement towards the Israeli government.
But many users support it: “She is a person who is not left unaffected by what she has seen and experienced. You could make carpets out of my constantly lost threads.”
The German Journalists’ Association also expressed its opinion and encouraged her: “ARD journalist Hanna Resch had interruptions in the live broadcast to Israel and had to stop. So what? It’s only human. No reason for malice.”
