SZ podcast “Munich personally” with rapper Malik Harris – Munich

Rapper Malik Harris writes all of his own lyrics, so there’s a lot of his personality in each of his songs. A conversation about big moments on stage, being alone on tour and his grandfather.

Malik Harris comes to the meeting near the Praterinsel with a big grin, shakes hands with you and says: “Hi, I’m Malik.” He exudes a lot of energy. Even those who experience him at performances can feel this power. At the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, he was one of the audience’s favorites backstage, but he still couldn’t compete with the bombastic shows of the other participants. He learned a lot from this experience. Nevertheless, the appearance in front of an audience of millions gave his career a boost.

After the Corona break, Malik Harris is now on the road quite a bit again. The 25-year-old says he enjoys it very much. In between, he keeps working in his Munich studio. So his fans can look forward to new songs. In the SZ podcast, the singer reveals which people are important in his life, who he grew up with and what that has to do with FC Bayern.

This and much more can be heard in the eighth episode of “Munich Personally”, the new podcast of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The conversation takes place on a park bench on the Isar. For the podcast of the Munich editorial team, Ulrike Heidenreich and René Hofmann, the heads of the Munich, Region and Bavaria departments, as well as People editor Sabine Buchwald, usually pick up their guests at their place of residence or their place of work. They then travel their personal route by tram, bus, subway or S-Bahn, sometimes also by cycle rickshaw.

It’s about current projects and very personal plans, about topics that move the city. About your favorite book, your favorite restaurant, your favorite club. The SZ podcast team invites people who have a connection to Munich. You live in the city or you are visiting. They come from the fields of politics, gastronomy, culture, sports or media.
