SZ podcast: Migration: proposed solutions put to the test – politics

People need a roof over their heads and something to eat, children need to be able to go to school or kindergarten. This also applies to refugees. But many cities and communities in Germany have been complaining for months: It’s too much, we can’t do it. We can no longer care for and accommodate all the asylum seekers.

In fact, a lot of migrants are arriving in Europe this year. And most of the asylum applications were made in Germany in the first half of the year. That’s why Interior Minister Nancy Faeser from the SPD announced on Wednesday that she would introduce “mobile” border controls at the borders with Poland and the Czech Republic. What can such controls achieve? And what other adjustments can politicians make? This is what Constanze von Bullion, an expert on domestic German asylum issues in the Berlin parliamentary editorial team, analyzes in this episode South German newspaper.

Further news: Basic child protection in the cabinet, data leak at banking service provider Majorel bigger than expected.
