SZ podcast: Migration – Has Scholz become a hardliner? – Politics

The federal government wants to be more tough on the issue of migration – and deport asylum seekers without residence rights more quickly in the future. The Federal Cabinet approved a corresponding bill from Interior Minister Nancy Faeser on Wednesday. But there is criticism of this from asylum associations, among others – they fear that the right to asylum in Germany could be undermined.

The head of the SZ parliamentary editorial team, Nicolas Richter, says: “The law makes the procedure easier – but it also restricts civil rights.” In the podcast he explains why the tone in the migration debate has recently become harsher and how the individual parties are positioning themselves on it. And it’s also about the attitude of Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
