SZ podcast: Davos: From the World Economic Forum to the World Conflict Summit – Economy

Since 1971, a global elite from business and politics has gathered in the small, exclusive Swiss health resort of Davos at the beginning of every year. And in 2024, the World Economic Forum will be more political than it has been for a long time. More than 60 heads of state and government arrived.

Ukrainian President Zelensky called for more support for his threatened country. Israel’s head of state Herzog has warned against Iran. And UN Secretary-General Guterres has called on state and business leaders to use their influence to restore security, prosperity and peace. The World Economic Forum has developed into a crisis summit. That’s how Bastian Brinkmann, deputy head of the SZ business editorial team, sees it.

Further news: Pakistan shells Iran, major NATO maneuvers in February, stricter asylum procedures in London and Berlin.
