Sylvester Stallone is so angry about the planned “Rocky” offshoot “Drago” that he spews poison and bile at the producers.

Many fans of the boxing drama could be happy that with “Drago” and thus in addition to “Creed” a second offshoot of the “Rocky” series was announced. Probably the most important person in the “Rocky” cosmos is already extremely disappointed and furious with the planned spin-off: Rocky Balboa himself, i.e. Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone (76). He distributed a violent verbal liver hook on Instagram against the producers of the planned strip.

The announcement would break his heart, Stallone writes. “I only just found out. Once again, this pathetic 94-year-old producer and his stupid, useless vulture children Charles and David are gnawing away at the bones of a wonderful character I’ve created – and won’t even tell me.”

A feud that has been going on for years

Although Stallone does not mention him by name, what is meant are the (actually 91-year-old) “Rocky” and “Creed” producer Irwin Winkler and his sons David and Charles Winker. Stallone already had his long-time companion in mid-July according to “The Hollywood Reporter” severely criticized and Irwin Winkler called a “parasite”. The disrespectful term also appears again in his most recent post.

Stallone never tires of shooting at the Winkler family. He is also listed as a producer on all films from the “Rocky” universe and the upcoming third part of the “Creed” series. In his opinion, however, he no longer has real control over the franchise that he created in 1976 with the Oscar-winning first part.

Anger at the makers, respect for Lundgren

In his Instagram post, he therefore apologizes for the latest offshoot of archenemy Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren, 64) and his son Viktor (Florian Munteanu, 31). “My apologies to the fans. I never wanted ‘Rocky’ characters to be exploited by these parasites.” However, he makes one thing immediately clear: “I have nothing but respect for my true friend, Dolph Lundgren.”

Lundgren’s character, the seemingly invincible Soviet-Russian Ivan Drago, was the central antagonist in “Rocky IV”. The character celebrated his return in part two of the “Rocky” offshoot “Creed”, in which his son acted as the antagonist of the title character Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan, 35). In the third part of the spin-off, which is announced for March 2023, Stallone will no longer be seen as Rocky for the first time. The question of participating in the “Drago” offshoot probably doesn’t even arise after his recent rage…
