Sylvester Stallone’s second great passion can also be found on canvas: painting. You can marvel at his art in Hagen.

On the big screen, actor Sylvester Stallone (75) is mainly known as a man for the rough. Whether as a mentally disabled war veteran Rambo, boxing man Rocky Balboa or suicide commander Barney Ross in the “Expendables” series. What many fans of his action films do not know: “Sly” has also been a passionate painter for decades. His second canvas art can now be admired up close in Germany.

Stallone met on Friday morning (December 3rd) at the Osthaus Museum in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia) to open his art exhibition called “Retrospective for the 75th Birthday” in front of selected press representatives. The star tackled the 75th year of life this July. The exhibition will be open to everyone from December 4th.

He likes to give the art lone fighter

Stallone revealed what has always fascinated him about painting in conversation with the “Spiegel”. In contrast to the film business, in which a work “sometimes takes two years and 500 people [braucht]whose vision you have to rely on, “painting still requires lone fighters -” you [ist] on your own “.

While he finds his calm in painting, in which “you can be a bit chaotic”, “writing, which also includes composing music” is for him “terrible, a real curse. It drives you crazy, it never leaves you. You don’t feel good, you have a headache, you don’t want to talk to your family. ” The fans will probably have to do without a Stallone symphony.
