On Sylt, a walker discovered a car next to a dirt road. The alerted police discovered a body in the extinguishing foam in the vehicle.

A dead man was found in a car near Westerland on Sylt. As the police and public prosecutor’s office in Flensburg announced on Friday, it is a 38-year-old man who lived and worked on the island. A fire extinguisher had apparently been emptied in the black car. The cause of death was still unclear.

On Thursday morning, a walker had called the police because of a suspicious vehicle on a dirt road. Officers then found the body. The cause and circumstances of death are still being determined, it said. Investigators asked for witnesses. It is important to find out whether the car was there on Tuesday or at a certain time on Wednesday.
