Swipe at Cristiano Ronaldo: Antonio Cassano names five better stars in history
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have had a lasting impact on world football in recent years. Now Antonio Cassano expressed doubts about CR7.
Former Italian international Antonio Cassano (39) does not see Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo (36) among the top five players of all time.
In conversation with compatriot Christian Vieri on his Twitch channel BoboTV When asked about the biggest players in football history, Cassano expressed clear doubts that CR7 can be found in this category.
“Enough with the theater! Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in football history? He’s not even in the top 5,” said Cassano, shooting the 36-year-old. Cassano’s criticism was also in response to recent hymns of praise from CR7 consultant Jorge Mendes for his client. “The numbers don’t lie. They show how Cristiano Ronaldo is setting records,” Mendes said.
Not CR7: Cassano sees five other stars up front
The now 39-year-old Cassano, however, has a completely different opinion – he sees other greats in the sport before CR7. “For me, Messi, Pele, Maradona, Cruyff and the other Ronaldo are on a different level,” said Cassano of the Marca quoted.
Since this season, Ronaldo has been playing for Manchester United in the Premier League again and is one of the hopes there. Incidentally, CR7 has already been recognized as a world footballer five times.
