The Regensburg Criminal Police Office is investigating 32 suspects in the Upper Palatinate who are said to be in possession of child pornography. A number of apartments and houses were therefore searched on Wednesday. The focus is in Regensburg, but the police said that living spaces in the Neumarkt area in der Oberpfalz were also searched.
The accused are between 15 and 62 years old. They are accused of obtaining or distributing files containing child pornography. Computers and smartphones were seized as evidence. The police wrote in their statement: “Behind every child pornographic image file is the real abuse of a child. Through the distribution of the files, the abuse is continuously continued and the victims are inflicted further suffering.”
