Suspected theft at the British Museum: who stole the artifact? – Culture

A now-sacked curator at the British Museum in London has been accused of stealing artifacts from the collection. What is now known has probably been clear within the museum since the beginning of the year: a significant number of pieces such as gold jewellery, semi-precious stones and glass from the 15th century BC to the 19th century AD have disappeared. Most of the missing items are small pieces that were kept in a storage room. None of these had been on public display recently; they had been used primarily for research purposes.
