Suspected smuggler’s car hits a tree – four injured – Bavaria

Four people were injured in an accident involving a suspected smuggling vehicle in Bayerisch Gmain in Upper Bavaria. They were taken to the hospital; according to police, all four had no identification documents.

The driver wanted to overtake another car immediately after crossing the border with Austria, said a police spokesman. The vehicle crashed into a tree. The suspected smuggler fled the scene of the accident on foot and the federal police are looking for him.

Just last week, a suspected smuggling vehicle had an accident while fleeing the police on the A 94 near Ampfing in Upper Bavaria. Seven people died, including a six-year-old child.
