Suspected attack by young people: Homeless man died of cerebral hemorrhage – Bavaria

A homeless man in the Allgäu region died after he was allegedly beaten up by a 17-year-old. As the Kempten public prosecutor’s office confirmed in response to SZ’s request, the 53-year-old was attacked on a street in Immenstadt on the night of Monday to Tuesday and injured in the head. The victim then filed a police report herself. The next morning he was found unconscious in a bank branch where he had spent the night. He later died in the Kempten Clinic.

The 53-year-old’s autopsy has now shown that the man died as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage, said a spokesman for the Kempten public prosecutor’s office on Friday. The extent to which the cerebral hemorrhage is related to the beatings of the alleged perpetrator is now a central question in the investigation.

The alleged perpetrator, born in 2007, has been in custody since Wednesday. He is being investigated on suspicion of homicide. According to the spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office, there are initial indications of the attacker’s motive, but nothing is certain yet. For this reason and because the suspect is a minor, the authorities are currently holding back on further details. According to police, the 17-year-old has been noticed for criminal offenses before.

Police first reported the attack on Tuesday. According to this, the young person is said to have attacked the 53-year-old in Immenstadt’s Bahnhofstrasse, apparently for no reason. After the attack, the man went to the Immenstadt police department to file a report. Thanks to a “passable personal description,” the police were able to quickly locate the suspected perpetrator and place him at home.

The police only found a minor head injury on the victim. Apparently without further medical examination, the man then sat down in the lobby of a bank branch, where he was discovered early on Tuesday morning in a life-threatening condition. He didn’t survive the day.
