The alleged perpetrator was the 39-year-old German Daniel S.. He is now being investigated for four counts of murder. So far there is no evidence “that he is somehow tending in an extreme direction,” said the investigating public prosecutor Heribert Kaune-Gebhardt on Wednesday at a press conference at the Wuppertal police headquarters. The head of the murder squad, Chief Detective Björn Goecke, spoke of evidence that the suspect sympathized “with a centrist party”.
