Even supporters of the three governing parties are critical of the work of the traffic light coalition. The proportion in the total population is a whopping 77 percent.

A current one According to a survey, a good three quarters of people in Germany are dissatisfied with the work of the federal government. 77 percent of those surveyed stated that they were less or not at all satisfied – in February 2022 the proportion was still 64 percent. This emerges from the RTL/ntv trend barometer. A majority of the supporters of the three governing parties (SPD: 52 percent; Greens: 55 and FDP: 71 percent) shared this assessment. Only 22 percent of all respondents were satisfied with the work of the traffic light coalition.

When asked about the Federal Constitutional Court’s freeze on the “heating law”, a majority stated that they believed the government was governing in a chaotic manner. 61 percent of the survey participants supported the assessment that the court’s intervention shows that the traffic light coalition governed unprofessionally and chaotically. 35 percent consider this assessment to be exaggerated.

Argued for months about the “heating law”.

The SPD, Greens and FDP had been arguing for months about the Building Energy Act (GEG) and the heating regulations. This was supposed to be passed in the Bundestag last Friday – but was stopped by the Federal Constitutional Court. Now, in the first week of the session after the summer break on September 8th, a decision will be made. Other current controversial issues were and are the 2024 budget because of the savings targets of Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP), the basic child security affected and parental allowance.
