These are the most popular gifts from Germans
Christmas is just around the corner and despite the corona pandemic and contact restrictions, there will be plenty of gifts again

If you have to get a Christmas present at the last minute, you can do it like most Germans and simply give away vouchers. Or choose one of the other popular gifts that Germans prefer.
Christmas is approaching and many Germans are looking for a present at the last minute. So it is a good thing that the most popular gift can be found quickly and easily online: vouchers.
According to the Statista consumer survey “Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2020” Of 1,038 respondents aged 18 and over, 36.8 percent want to give away vouchers or gift cards. 31.7 percent of those surveyed surprise their friends and relatives with cosmetics, perfume or personal care products and 23 percent want to give away clothes or shoes for Christmas.
When asked what they would be most happy about, the majority of respondents (29 percent) answered “money” in a rather unromantic way. 16 percent would like smartphones, tablets or the like. Only four percent are happy about a donation in their name.
