Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins Amazon’s The Boys Series The “The Walking Dead” star has now been confirmed for the fourth season.

Another top-class star has been confirmed for Amazon’s superhero satire “The Boys”. As reported by the industry magazine “Hollywood Reporter”., Jeffrey Dean Morgan (56) will join the show in the upcoming fourth season. Morgan takes on an as-yet-unknown character and will appear in a recurring role. That means the ‘The Walking Dead’ star will appear in some, but not all, of the episodes in the next chapter of the black humor series.

“The Boys” sees another “Supernatural” reunion

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a busy series actor. Since the end of the sixth season he has been playing the villain Negan in the zombie series “The Walking Dead” – and will also play this role after the end of the series in the upcoming spin-off “The Walking Dead: Dead City” alongside the Maggie actress Reincarnate Lauren Cohan (40). Morgan now meets a number of old acquaintances on “The Boys”. Under showrunner Eric Kripke (48), he was already in front of the camera in the long-lived fantasy series “Supernatural”, which ended in 2020. Morgan’s “Supernatural” series son Jensen Ackles (44) also signed on for season three of “The Boys” – and embodied the cynical superhero Soldier Boy.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s commitment to “The Boys” is the fulfillment of a long-cherished wish. As early as January 2020, a good six months after “The Boys” was first published, he announced his willingness to play in the Amazon series on Twitter. Showrunner Kripke then invited him to be a cast member for the show’s third season, whereupon Morgan responded in the publicly viewable conversation, he will participate “without hesitation”. So now, instead of the third, it’s the upcoming fourth season of the hit series.

Before this, the “Gen V” offshoot will start on Amazon Prime Video. Set at a college for young superheroes, the series will have ties to parent series The Boys. An official launch date for “Gen V” is still pending.
