Supermarket cashier arrested for not charging her family

The scheme lasted almost two months. On Tuesday, the cashier of a supermarket in Morlaix (Finistère) and five members of her family were arrested in the region of Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor) for aggravated theft, reports The Telegram. Employed as a hostess until January 14, the 32-year-old woman is accused of not having charged her family at checkout.

The shopping paper filled, the cashier only scanned a few items to significantly lower the receipt of her relatives. Trolleys containing 300 euros of shopping were thus paid for only ten euros.

The six family members tried on October 2

In total, the loss of the thefts amounts to around 30,000 euros for the store which had filed a complaint on January 26. At the home of the defendants, the police found some of the stolen items, including household appliances.

Released at the end of their police custody, the six members of the family will appear before the Brest criminal court on October 2.
