Summer at home
:
A vacation day on the Isar
Reading time: 5 mins
Swimming, barbecuing, sunbathing: The Isar is both a place of longing and a focal point. A day between Großhesseloher Bridge and Grünwald shows that you don’t have to travel far if you want to experience and enjoy life.

You can’t get to the water fast enough. “Hey Digga, out of the way!” screams the wiry teenager as he races his bike from the Großhesseloher side to the small bridge on the Isar canal. The high-spirited shout elicits brief laughter from those around, seconds later the self-confident polluter is standing on the outside of the railing with his buddies (he would perhaps say “bros” more) in swimming trunks. A few more casual sayings – and then jumped off with maximum cool body language. A few meters down into the refreshing water. Summer vacation at home. At the Isar. Also beautiful. The SZ took a look at the goings-on on the river on a small excursion.
