Andrea Tandler, PR entrepreneur from Munich and daughter of CSU grandee Gerold Tandler, will be invited to the state parliament for Friday, April 29 at 9:15 a.m. Conference hall, Maximilianeum, Munich, is the location. There the Tandler daughter, who cashed in heavily on mask deals, is supposed to testify as a witness in the mask investigative committee. It would be the PR entrepreneur’s first public appearance since her role in dealings with the Swiss trading company Emix with corona protective clothing became known more than a year ago.
Shortly after the start of the pandemic, Andrea Tandler brokered sales of Emix for more than 700 million euros to the health ministries in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and above all in the federal government via CSU channels. Together with a partner, the Tandler subsidiary received commissions of 48.3 million euros from Emix. Ultimately, the money comes from taxes. The PR entrepreneur does not answer questions about this. She does not give interviews and does not otherwise appear in public.
It is also to be expected in the investigative committee that Andrea Tandler will refuse any statement as to exactly how the mask deals went. As a suspect in an investigation by the Munich I public prosecutor, the entrepreneur also has the right to remain silent in an investigative committee. Andrea Tandler is being investigated on suspicion of money laundering; she rejects that. The traffic light opposition consisting of the Greens, SPD and FDP should insist that the Tandler daughter appear and personally record any refusal to testify.
MEPs could then also use this opportunity to ask questions, even if they are not answered. In any case, there is little inclination in opposition circles to spare Andrea Tandler such an appearance. For the Greens, SPD and FDP, this would be a welcome opportunity to publicize the millions in commissions, which are also based on good CSU contacts.
The Zurich young entrepreneurs Jascha Rudolphi and Luca Steffen, who run Emix, are also to be summoned as witnesses for April 29. However, as a Swiss citizen you do not have to come. According to the Munich I public prosecutor, Emix is said to have made a profit of around 300 million euros with the German Corona business. Emix explains that the German authorities have “no knowledge of the procurement and other costs” that the Zurich company had in these transactions. “Without knowing all the relevant figures and costs, third parties cannot calculate profits or margins correctly.” The profit from the transactions in Germany was “effectively considerably less than 50 percent” of the trading volume.
