Men fight over spilled coffee – federal police are investigating

A coffee mug falls out of a man’s hand and lands on someone else’s pants. A violent argument ensues, in which both are injured.
Train stations are often hectic. Everyone is in a hurry, nobody wants to miss their train and their nerves are on edge. Tense encounters with other travelers here and there are part of the agenda.
Coffee stains cause serious arguments
Such a meeting occurred last Saturday morning in Stuttgart’s main train station when two men clashed. The trigger is said to have been a spilled coffee.
According to a report by the Federal Police, a 61-year-old initially dropped one of the two coffee mugs he was carrying and fell onto the platform. The spilled coffee also landed on the pants of another train traveler, who took it all but calmly and insulted the 61-year-old.
What followed was an argument – initially verbal – between the two men about the coffee and the stains. In the heat of the moment, the coffee owner poured the contents of the second cup over his 32-year-old opponent. The situation escalated – and the two men physically attacked each other.
Both suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention, according to the police report. The federal police are now investigating the men on suspicion of bodily harm and insult.
Dispute over vacated seat escalates
In the evening there was another violent argument at Stuttgart Central Station. Around 8:30 p.m., a 20-year-old and a 48-year-old are said to have argued about a seat that had become vacant. The initially verbal argument turned into a physical one and the 20-year-old hit the other man in the face several times. The 48-year-old didn’t put up with this and fought back.
A police patrol tried to mediate and wanted to take the two men to the station to clarify the matter. However, the 20-year-old resisted, so he had to be carried to the vehicle. He is said to have kicked the officers and hit an officer in the leg, who was not injured. The police are investigating both men.
