Studying abroad during Corona: What you should pay attention to – career

Despite the pandemic, many students are very interested in going to another country for a semester. However, a stay at a guest university requires particularly careful preparation, also in the event of a corona infection. What to look out for when planning.

Leave your comfort zone and study in a foreign country – more and more students have had this wish in recent decades. And before the start of the Corona crisis, it could often be put into practice without too many hurdles. Although that has changed in the last two years, interest in studying abroad has remained constant at many universities. In spring 2020, for example, only 421 students completed a semester abroad at the University of Mannheim instead of the usual 1,100 – but since then the number has risen back to the original level. At the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich, the numbers have almost doubled again after a slump at the beginning of the Corona crisis.
