Students from Haarer and Lochham learn about consumer protection – district of Munich

Where does our food come from? How do I handle money and how do I protect my personal data online? Two schools in the district have anchored consumer issues like these in their lessons in a very special way, giving their students important everyday skills: the primary and middle school in Lochham in the municipality of Gräfelfing and the middle school in Haar, along with 75 other schools in Bavaria, were recognized for their commitment awarded as “Partner School Consumer Education Bavaria”. The program aims to provide schoolchildren with consumer education: what constitutes healthy nutrition, how to allocate pocket money or how to use the Internet responsibly. The project was initiated by the Bavarian Ministry of Consumer Protection and Education together with the Consumer Service Bavaria. It has been implemented in schools throughout Bavaria since the 2015/16 school year.
