Moers (NRW) – Was it his own son (20)? After the piece murder of tailor Kazim Tatar (56) from Moers, investigators now arrested two urgent suspects. Including the man’s son…
Tatar returned from vacation in Turkey in September, but his shop at Homberger Strasse 335 in Moers-Scherpenberg remained closed… Concerned customers called the police. The homicide finally secured bloody traces that only allowed a homicide as an explanation. Investigators assume that the tailor was dismembered after the murder and the body parts were then hidden. A few weeks later there was a mysterious fire in the dead tailor’s residential and commercial building – presumably by the murderer or killers to cover up tracks.
The Arrests
After meticulous investigations, the officers finally searched four residential addresses and a shop in Moers and Neukirchen-Vluyn on November 21! Three vehicles (including a gray Audi Q 4), several data carriers and mobile phones were seized. On the same day, investigators from the Duisburg Homicide Commission arrested the 20-year-old son of the murdered man in his apartment in Moers. He is also under urgent suspicion of murder, as is an acquaintance (48) from Neukirchen-Vluyn, who was also arrested.
“The suspicion arose from several witness statements, the evaluation of traces in the victim’s apartment and other extensive investigations,” said a police spokesman. “Investigators are currently assuming that the two suspects together murdered Kazim Tatar, who returned from Turkey on September 12, 2022, in his apartment.”
Now both men are in custody on suspicion of joint murder. The police officers are now investigating whether other people were involved in the murder or the disposal of the body.
According to the police, there are still no indications of where the tailor’s body is located.
