Is Stromberg returning to TV? “Brainpool” boss Marcus Wolter is at least toying with the idea.

Marcus Wolter (55) brings a possible comeback from “Stromberg” into play. In conversation with the Industry magazine “DWDL” revealed the boss of the production company Brainpool that he at least “gets ideas” to reactivate the cult series about office beast Bernd Stromberg.

In the interview, Marcus Wolter was asked about MySpass, Brainpool’s in-house streaming service. The producer mentioned that old episodes of “Stromberg” were very successful there. That awakens “fantasies” in him. “It gives you ideas,” he said.

When asked about a comeback of the series, Wolter initially avoided: “Anyone who misses Bernd Stromberg can see him every day on MySpass”. But then he admitted that he had of course already thought about a return of the comedy series after ten years.

The ball is now in the hands of Christoph Maria Herbst

Whether “Stromberg” will really be reactivated is up to others. Marcus Wolter mentioned the author Ralf Husmann (58) and of course the man who brought Bernd Stromberg to life: actor Christoph Maria Herbst (56).

The Brainpool boss, who is also responsible for the comeback of “TV total”, wishes for a return from “Stromberg”. He “loves” the series. And he knows he’s not alone. “If you were to ask the Germans which format they would like to have back, I would be sure: ‘Stromberg’ is among the top 3”.

“Stromberg” ran from 2004 to 2012 in five seasons on ProSieben. After that, Brainpool launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce a theatrical spin-off. “Stromberg – The Movie” was released in 2014.
