Strike CEO Jack Mallers Announces Partnership with Shopify

Mobile payment app Strike has partnered with Shopify, alternative payment provider Blackhawk Network, and NCR to create a new payment system in the United States. This allows merchants to quickly accept payments in dollars after people pay in crypto.

Strike CEO Jack Mallers explained at the Miami Bitcoin conference Thursday afternoon: “It’s a new payment system. creative and superior, which is ultimately buried and distributed in our lives.” He then showed a video of himself shopping at a Chicago grocery store.

Mallers said, “You’ll be able to walk into a grocery store, go to Whole Foods, Chipotle. Mallers also lists major US companies. He said he could accept payments this way, including McDonald’s, CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods and Wal-Mart, among other grocery and restaurant chains.

“Strike’s integration can be accessed by all consumers in the world with Bitcoin Lightning network enabled wallets, including more than 70 million CashApp users,” Strike said in an April 7 press release on the topic. Shopify is included, one of its early partners was Warren Lotas, a popular streetwear brand from Los Angeles.
