The author and director Tommy Krappweis doesn’t think much of genre boundaries, he much prefers to mix the different characteristics, which he has repeatedly shown in his works. The series coal blackwhich he developed and realized together with the leading actor Michael Kessler as well as with Christian von Aster and Sophia Krappweis for the streaming service Paramount+, is therefore a bit of many things: a bit of comedy, a bit of satire, a bit of horror, a bit of mystery, a A bit of crime, a bit of romance, a bit of fairy tales, a bit of a prank, a bit of homeland film.
