While other streaming platforms rely on subscribers and paid offerings, Joyn from ProSiebenSat.1 focuses on advertising revenue. The platform will soon be available in three countries.

ProSiebenSat.1 is expanding Streaming offer Joyn to Switzerland. The free platform will start there in June, as the media group in Unterföhring near Munich announced. The Swiss version will have films, series and shows on demand as well as live programs from TV channels. Joyn is currently available in Germany and Austria.

Unlike other streaming providers, Joyn primarily relies on advertising revenue and reach with a free offer. Earnings from plus content subscribers are not the primary focus. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, ProSiebenSat.1 operates 15 free and pay TV channels, as shown in the latest annual report.

Joyn was initially founded as a joint venture with Warner Bros. Discovery. Years ago, ProSiebenSat.1 took over all shares. Live programs from TV channels from other providers can also be seen on the platform, including public service offerings.
