Comedy series with Strunk coming in the fall

Last resort Mallorca: Unsuccessful musicians are looking for career luck on the Spanish island. Main actor Heinz Strunk finally wants to present something “of comic relevance” again.

“Last Exit Schinkenstraße”: Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service announces a comedy series by and with bestselling author Heinz Strunk (61) for this fall – it’s about unsuccessful musicians who want to try a hit career at Ballermann as a last resort. “The six-part series takes place in Hamburg and Mallorca,” said Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday. In addition to the main actors Strunk and Marc Hosemann (“Die Discounter”), “Mickie Krause, Olli Schulz, Bjarne Mädel, HP Baxxter, Charly Hübner, Katharina Wackernagel” also play. All six episodes can be seen “exclusively on Prime Video in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in autumn 2023”.

“In all immodesty: “Last Exit Schinkenstraße” proves that beyond the Teutonic comedy sadness, which has been freezing the country in a lack of humor for many years, something of comic relevance has once again emerged,” said the main actor and screenwriter Strunk (” Meat is my vegetable”, “The Golden Glove”, “Ein Sommer in Niendorf”), who, according to Prime Video, also wrote extra party anthems for the series, according to the announcement.

And that’s what it’s supposed to be about, according to Prime Video: Two clumsy people in their mid-fifties, trumpeter Torben (Hosemann) and saxophonist Peter (Strunk), are thrown out on the street overnight by the band leader of the dance band Boarding Time. Now they “put everything on one card and go to Mallorca to become hit stars in El Arenal”. In doing so, however, they would have to deal with competition, song theft, affairs and Torbens in their native Hamburg, remaining suspicious Mrs. Ilona (Bettina Stucky).
