Strawberry: what really lies behind its bright spots

See in the video: the bright spots on the strawberry are not seeds.

New plants can be grown from the bright spots on strawberries. So the little round hard things must be seeds, right?
Incorrect. Because the small grains are not seeds, but fruits.
They are called achenes in botany. This is a form of nut-like closed fruit. The seed is surrounded by a thick pericarp. Other examples of such special forms of nuts are dandelion achenes or sunflower seeds.
So the fruit of the strawberry is what we commonly refer to as its seeds. The red flesh is botanically called a false fruit.
