This year, Senior Citizens Representative Jessica Bauner had the idea for the senior citizens’ program of the municipality of Straßlach-Dingharting to organize a barbecue together with senior citizens and the mayors at the end of the first half of the year. “It’s nice to see that you can get together again and enjoy the time in the community,” says Bauner. The series of walks through the community, joint coffee rounds and a workshop in dealing with digital media was crowned by the festival under the motto “Spending time together”. “I’ve never stood at the grill for such a demanding audience,” says Mayor Hans Sienerth, who was joined as grill master by his deputies Peter Schneider and Sabine Hüttenkofer. The mayors are also proud of the expansion of the position of senior citizens’ representative, the intensive search for a “Bufdi” for the community and the promotion of bus transport.
