With its panoramic view of an impressive mountain backdrop, Ludwigshöhe is one of the most popular excursion destinations south of Munich. On nice days it is not only visited by nature enthusiasts, many cyclists, couples, hikers, picnickers and partiers also come to the highest point in the district of Munich. “Unfortunately not everyone appreciates this beautiful spot of nature,” complain farmers Peter Schneider from Straßlach and Matthias Spindler from Dingharting. “Many visitors leave their rubbish on the lawn.” This contaminates the animals’ feeding fields.

At the suggestion of the farmers, more rubbish bins have already been set up. Unfortunately, these did not yet bring the desired success. In order to draw even more attention to the problem, the community has now also had a banner printed here – as on the Mühltalberg as a warning for cyclists – with the aim of warning visitors to be more considerate of the feeding meadows. The community has also contacted the farmers’ association and decided to participate in the “Consideration makes ways wide” campaign. This saying is sprayed on the streets to promote good cooperation among everyone. The campaign has already had a major impact on other popular excursion destinations. The community therefore hopes for broad approval here as well. This project is very important to Mayor Hans Sienerth. “I like to go to Ludwigshöhe myself and enjoy the view. In the last few months I have increasingly noticed that many visitors do not obey the rules of the game.”

Now Sienerth met with various representatives of the farmers’ association: in addition to Peter Schneider, second mayor and chairman of Straßlach, and Matthias Spindler, councilor and chairman of Dingharting, also with district farmer Sonja Dierl, district chairman Anton Stürzer and the local farmer, Renate Merold. Together they sprayed the slogans on the pavement. They hope that the action in Straßlach-Dingharting will lead to more consideration for all road users.
