“Stranger Things” star Joe Keery is looking forward to the end of the series with mixed feelings, as he has now revealed in an interview.

When exactly will viewers enter the retro-mystery world of the kids from “Stranger Things” is not yet certain. Joe Keery (31), who plays Steve Harrington, one of the fan-favorite characters from the Netflix hit, is already looking forward to the end of the series with mixed feelings.

No career without “Stranger Things”

Keery feels like it’s about time he tells in an interview with the magazine “WWD”. “It’s not going to be easy for it to end. I mean, I owe my entire career to being on this show,” explains the US actor. All the opportunities that have opened up to him since then have been thanks to Stranger Things.

“So it’s very complicated,” Keery explains his feelings. “There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness.” He said he wanted to soak up as much as possible while filming the fifth and final season, “and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an incredible journey with such great people.” When it’s all over, he wants to try to finish it but hold on to the joy he and the others had while shooting “Stranger Things”.

His colleague Millie Bobby Brown (19), who plays the main character Eleven, recently chose similar words. “I think I’m ready”, she told the magazine. “The show has been a huge part of my life, but it feels like graduating from high school, like the final year of high school. You’re ready to go, to thrive and to thrive. You’re grateful for the time you’ve had. But it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”

“Stranger Things” is one of Netflix’s biggest hits

The fourth season of “Stranger Things” was released in the summer of 2022 and, according to the streaming service, has around 140 million views. Only the first season of “Wednesday” (almost 252 million views) and “Squid Game” (about 265 million views) are more successful on Netflix.

Due to the Hollywood double strike by the authors’ and actors’ unions, the cameras in the dream factory are almost completely still. Therefore, it is currently not foreseeable when the last “Stranger Things” season can be shot and when it could appear.
