Sat. 1 sends singles to a deserted island. In “Stranded… on the Honeymoon” from April 17th, people get married without knowing each other.

Sat. 1 wants to provide love again. With “Wedding at First Sight,” the station has had a TV experiment in its program since 2014, in which the candidates get married without knowing each other. In “Stranded… in the Honeymoon”, the idea is now being transported to a deserted island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The six episodes will be shown from April 17th every Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1 and a week before on Joyn.

The concept

Twelve singles between the ages of 27 and 44 who want to get married unexpectedly exchange vows in “Stranded… on their honeymoon” and only then get to know each other on their honeymoon. Just the two of them and isolated from the outside world, they can find out in the holiday setting whether they really fit together. A team of relationship experts identified the ideal partner for a lifelong marriage for each candidate, explains the broadcaster. However, the trailer for the show shows that things will not remain harmonious between the married couples. “If you’re at all pissed off, feel free to tell me,” one candidate snaps at her new husband.

Behind the idea of ”Stranded… on the Honeymoon” is a Danish production company that also developed “Wedding at First Sight”. Under the international title “Stranded on Honeymoon Island”, the format has already been implemented in five countries, including Australia and the Netherlands.

These are the candidates

In Germany, six women and six men will take part in the experiment. The trained educator Saskia (29) is there according to the trailer says yes to the insurance salesman Jörn (32). After the wedding, they jump from the boat into the water together and “strand” on the island.

In addition, intensive care nurse Charleen (35) from Berlin wants to find happiness in the experiment, as do dance teacher Romina (30) from Saarbrücken, saleswoman Nadin (33) from Halle an der Saale, agency owner Nadine (28) from Frankfurt am Main and Steffi ( 36) from Altrip near Mannheim, who is hoping for new love after a 17-year relationship.

The 36-year-old master carpenter Jens from Niederdorfelden was already engaged – in “Stranded… on the Honeymoon” the marriage is now supposed to work. The men are also looking for love: retail clerk Oli (30, Düsseldorf), sales employee Carlo (27, Sittensen), branch manager Crish (44, Hamburg) and the trained bricklayer and aspiring Reiki master Niklas (30) from Hamburg.
