Videos show a tornado tearing its way through Clarksville, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. There are dead and injured. Emergency services are still on duty.

At least six people have died as a result of severe storms in the US state of Tennessee. Three people died in Clarksville after a tornado swept through the town on Saturday afternoon (local time), the district administration announced. One of the fatalities was therefore a child. 23 people were taken to hospital with injuries. In Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, about an hour’s drive southeast, three people also died as a result of a severe one According to the city’s situation center, people died in the storm. In both places, houses were partially seriously damaged and power lines were knocked down.

Clarksville Mayor Wes Golden called it a “sad day.” Pray for all those injured and for those who have lost relatives or their homes. An emergency shelter has been set up for everyone who needs help. City residents were asked to stay in their homes to keep the streets clear for emergency vehicles.

Videos showed the tornado tearing its way through Clarksville, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. The situation center in Nashville reported that the emergency services were still looking for injured people and getting an overview of the damage.
