Storm in Bavaria: “A swath of devastation through the middle of the campsite” – Bavaria

A storm swept across large parts of Bavaria on Thursday evening. Lindau on Lake Constance was particularly affected with around 100 operations. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), hurricane gusts with speeds of up to 144 kilometers per hour were measured there. A campsite in the Zech district had to be evacuated because trees had fallen on mobile homes and tents. Six people were injured, one seriously. The fire brigade brought around 900 camping holidaymakers, including many young families with children, to emergency accommodation. As a police spokesman said, those affected spent the night in the island hall in Lindau. The fire brigade, police and technical aid organization worked for hours.
