The Dax started the week of the central banks on Monday with profits. In the first few minutes of trading, the German benchmark index rose by 0.2 percent to 15,650 points.

After its strong setback from the record high in mid-November at 16,290 points to around 15,000 points at the end of the month, the Dax has recently recovered. The MDax of the medium-sized stock market rose on Monday by 0.2 percent to 34,450 points. The leading Eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 rose 0.2 percent to 4207 points.

In addition to the US Federal Reserve, the monetary authorities from Europe, Great Britain and Japan will also determine the further course of monetary policy in the coming days. Market participants are particularly concerned about whether the Fed is already ringing in a turnaround in interest rates or not. Of course, the pandemic and its Omikron variant will continue to dominate the headlines as investors slowly prepare for the annual financial statements.
