Marvin Ducksch defends himself against criticism and believes that the knot will soon burst with him.
Marvin Ducksch is still waiting for his first goal this season. However, the SV Werder attacker rejects criticism of himself and his performance.
With 21 stalls and ten assists, Marvin Ducksch was instrumental in the resurgence of SV Werder Bremen last season. In the upper house, however, things are not yet going to work out for the 28-year-old: While his strike partner Niclas Füllkrug has already snapped five times in the Bundesliga, Ducksch is still zero after seven match days.
His missed penalty against FC Augsburg, with which he denied his team a chance to win a point, also fits into the picture.
Despite the lull, Ducksch remains set under Ole Werner, even if the critical voices increase with every goalless minute. However, the attacker cannot understand such expressions of displeasure. “The templates are not seen from the outside! Strikers are only measured by goals,” complained Ducksch, who has already prepared three goals in the Bundesliga and one in the DFB Cup, in an interview with the picture.
Ducksch explained that he was helping his team “with the work backwards”. In addition, there are the templates and attacks that he initiates.
Ducksch with more defensive duties
“In the premier league we have to adapt more to our opponents. That’s why the game is different and I’m sometimes more defensive,” the attacker explained the differences to his accurate second league season. “I worked hard on it in preparation and accepted the task very well.”
Ducksch admitted that the time without a goal did not leave him unscathed and that he was of course busy. “But at some point the knot will burst,” he was sure. “I continue to work hard in training every day and I don’t let my head down.”
