Aerosmith are currently on their farewell tour. But that must now be interrupted. Singer Steven Tyler is no longer allowed to sing.
The American rock band Aerosmith has canceled its farewell tour in North America due to the singer’s vocal cord injury Steven Tyler (75) interrupted and postponed several concerts. “It breaks my heart to announce that I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler wrote in a statement released by the band on Instagram. “I suffered a vocal cord injury during Saturday’s show that caused bleeding. We need to reschedule a few dates so we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”
The band, founded in 1970, announced in May that they wanted to say goodbye to their fans with around 40 concerts in North America. The farewell tour began on September 2nd in Philadelphia. The next six dates, which should have taken place in Detroit, Chicago and Toronto, among others, have now been postponed to January and February 2024. Aerosmith had worldwide success, especially in the 80s and 90s, with songs like “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”, “Crazy”, “Livin’ On The Edge”, “Amazing” and “Janie’s Got A Gun”.
