Karateka Steven Da Costa was crowned on Saturday individual world champion in the under 67 kg category in Budapest, his third title after 2018 and 2021, a first for a Frenchman.
In Hungary, Da Costa, 26, won the final against Montenegrin Nenad Dulovic and thus won a third world crown in a row.
Crowned Olympic champion for the first and only appearance of karate at the Games in 2021 in Tokyo – the discipline will not be represented in Paris – Steven Da Costa will try to add a little more to his rich record with a bronze medal on Sunday, during the team event.
