With “Suits: LA,” the legal series “Suits” is getting a spin-off. The new star lawyer of the NBC format is no stranger to Hollywood.

Between 2011 and 2019, the legal series “Suits” provided exciting entertainment with legal depth over a total of nine seasons. At the end of 2023 it was announced that the successful series would receive a sequel under different auspices in a spin-off called “Suits: LA”. As “Entertainment Weekly” now reports, Canadian actor Stephen Amell (42) will take on the lead role in the new NBC format.

New legal adventures in Los Angeles

In “Suits: LA” the action shifts from New York to the West Coast of the USA. Led by Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a new legal team specializing in criminal and entertainment law takes on exciting cases in Los Angeles. The new series was developed by Aaron Korsh (57), the creator of the original series, and will also be an executive producer. According to the reports, filming for the project will begin in March. In addition to Amell being cast in the lead role, no other castings have yet been announced.

Stephen Amell was last seen in the wrestling drama “Heels.” He previously received greater fame through his role as Oliver Queen alias Green Arrow in the US action series “Arrow” and his role in the mystery series “Vampire Diaries”. According to Entertainment Weekly, various characters from the original series could also appear in the spin-off.

Duchess Meghan unlikely to return

However, Duchess Meghan (42), the wife of Prince Harry (39), is unlikely to return. In the original series, she played paralegal Rachel Zane until her early exit in 2017.
